Catering Captain - Monday - Friday

Milwaukee Area, WI

Position Objectives: Responsible for assisting with food preparation, food serving and event set-ups for clients hosting events, while contributing to the provision of quality service to meet guest standards. Qualified candidates will have the ability to assist with the overall success of banquet operations under minimal supervision.  The individual will have leadership skills to drive revenue, maximize profit, and ensure quality.   

Job Duties & Responsibilities: 

● Manage daily set-up and break down of food and beverage products for catered events 

● Manage inventory and stocking of catering products for future events ensuring proper storage & rotation.  

● Food preparation for daily activities and scheduled events.  

● Serving of food and beverage product to event participants, vendors and host clients.  

● Assist with food delivery and transportation; on-site food assembling/preparation. 

● Assist with event coordination; table set-ups, place settings, serving areas and discarded products.  

● Assist with event clean up; on-site or off-site, all plates, dishes, silverware, glassware, linens, chairs and garbage. 

 Pack up any left-over food, serving equipment, thermal containers and hot wells.  

● Assist with moving catering products from loading dock to catering kitchen. 

● Print food and product labels and signage for buffets.  

● Maintain participation awareness of upcoming catering events and event orders.   

● Maintain a clean and professional appearance and uniform.  

● Communicate effectively with guests and clients to handle last minute requests.  

● Communicate effectively with Catering Director and Chef’s; assist when needed.  

Physical Demands: 

●  Requires prolonged periods of being on their feet ranging from 4 – 8 hours/shift. 

●  Walking and standing on the kitchen tiling with potentially slick surfaces.  

●  Light/moderate lifting is required between 30 - 50 pounds.  

●  Position dictates working in a fast-paced environment. 

●  Able to communicate verbally and issue communication clearly 

●  Able to read and write clearly. 

●  Able to solve problems with limited supervision 

●  Able to work independently  

Position Standards: 

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency 
  • Experience: Prior casual and/or fine dining experience preferred.
